Announcements from the April Meeting:
There will be a 4-H Record Book Training Tuesday April 14, at 6:00 PM at the Bell County Extension Office. This is very important and key information, especially for you high school 4-H-ers who will be seeking 4-H scholarships in the near future. Contact Micah at mlkarber@ag.tamu.edu for more information.
Speaking of scholarships, our club has set aside funds for Scholarships for our Seniors. Instructions for applying will be available at the May meeting and the applications will be due two weeks after that. We will announce the recipient(s) of the scholarship funds at the June meeting.
The Bell County Youth Fair also has very lucrative BCYF Scholarships available to seniors as well. Applications are due no later than Friday, April 17. Go to Bell Co. Youth Fair Scholarship to apply.
Our Newcomer's Party will be Saturday, April 25th, tentatively at Twin Falls. The location will be confirmed A.S.A.P. Invite your horse-loving friends to learn about the club!
We will be announcing a date soon for a work day at the H.A.R.T. Center for our Community Service Project. For more information about this community resource, go to http://www.hartcenter.org/.
District and State Validation Forms were available at the April meeting and all attendees who will be participating in District and/or State should have completed these and turned them in. The very last date to turn these in is this Friday, April 17, so please visit with Dirk or a member of his staff before then if you are going to compete.
The S.H.O.T. Clinic is coming up quickly, and will be held Thursday, June 11 through Saturday June 13. This is our big fundraiser for the year and we need every 4-H-er to come and volunteer their time. Sign ups for adult coordinators were available at last night's meeting, but we still need more!
District 8 is right around the corner as well, Monday, June 15 and Tuesday, June 16. Entry forms for this will only be provided to those who have completed their validation forms before this Friday, April 17.
It's also almost time for Officer Elections! If you are interested in becoming a leader in our club, please make sure you express your interest as nominations will be taken at the May meeting.
Hope all is well with you and your herds!
